EAGLES v BEES: TAKE 2

Another huge meeting faces the Eastbourne Eagles on Wednesday night (October 17).

The much postponed National League Play Off semi-final against the Coventry Bees is due to get under way at 8pm at Arlington Stadium.

The first running of this fixture fell victim to the weather - as did two attempts by Coventry to run their home leg.

Eastbourne, fresh from their National League KO Cup triumph on Saturday, will be seeking to build a big lead to take to the second leg.

Team manager, Connor Dugard, said: “There’s no question of us taking our foot off the gas because we have won the cup.

“That success just makes us hungry for more.

“We are always confident, whoever we ride – home or away. Having said that, a big lead will be nice to take up to the second leg and that’s what we are aiming to do. It will take off any pressure.”

Mildenhall are already through to the final.

The second leg will be at the Leicester track, where Coventry have ridden their home meetings this season, on October 20.

After Wednesday, the next match at Arlington is on Sunday, October 21, against Mildenhall.

If the Forman IT Eagles have qualified, it will the Play Off final, first leg. If they have failed to qualify, it will be the outstanding National League match against the Fen Tigers. It’s a 7.30pm start on the Sunday.

Eastbourne are forced to use rider replacement on Wednesday for Ethan Spiller who has school commitments.
